I wanted to try applying this partially rusticated, tentacley look to some pipe shapes other than the August acorn, and applying it to a long-stemmed classical billiard seemed an obvious choice. The result is a wonderful combination of classical and weird, with a writhing carving style that covers half the bowl and wraps long tendrils around the contrast-stained smooth side. The smooth portion shows off some beautiful grain and the dichotomy of the finish gives the whole thing a ton of personality. It’s definitely my Vincent Price pipe.
