Here, rather late to the party, is the last of the April “Shape of the Month”, the bent Canadian. We’d drilled and set up a bunch of these and then there was this minor virus distraction and here’s the last of the bunch just now being finished. However, I’m happy to say the design is going out on a high note – This is easily the most complex Raven’s Wing carving variation yet. Check out all the close-up photos I’ve posted! It looks positively iridescent in the hand, the way all the fine lines of the carving catch the light as it’s turned. This one had a slightly shorter shank than the others, so we’ve lengthened the stem a bit with a ring of 1930’s-era marbled ebonite rod stock. All in all, what a terrific way to finish out this set!
