Non-US buyers are responsible for all customs fees incurred in their country. "Out of Stock" messages during check-out mean that the pipe has already sold, but I have not yet updated the catalog page to reflect its "Sold" status. The quick story - I've recently gotten hold of a large cache of my older pipes as part of a generous gift to help us pay my wife's cancer surgery expenses. Over the next weeks, I'll be gradually posting them as I get them cleaned, inspected, etc. Many of these pipes are NEW and UNSMOKED and have been part of a display collection, sometimes for as much as 20 years!

...And this one is a great example of that "NEW and UNSMOKED" bit... It's a brand new pipe that just happens to be 11 years old. It's been sitting in a display case all its life, but thanks to the extreme generosity of fellow pipe people, it's now here in our stock and on offer to you, to help us pay some seriously major hospital bills. The stamping is our French rendition of "Talbert Briar" and it has the additional "Faite en Bretagne" stamp that notates all our production from the years we lived in Brittany. This one is a lot more recent than many of the older pipes we'll be posting for sale over coming weeks, but I did still go back and make a few tweaks to it nonetheless - A thinner bit with smaller buttons and an opened stem airway, as well as an improved shine and grain contrast to the smooth bowl rim. Think of it as a hybrid... A little 2018/USA, a lot 2007/France.

There are a lot of nice things about this pipe, though my favorite part of it is what doesn't translate in photos - It just looks cool and well-balanced in the hand. Emily and I both agreed it was one of our faves of this older stock, and it just feels "right" to me... the right weight, the right size, the right sort of draw, etc. I hope the eventual owner will think the same!
